Big Problems - 10/21 8PM - Space for 1 More - DM Angela

Since the spies from Gulg don't seem to have generated any interest, anyone interested in taking out some bandits that attacked bandits that attacked a "hunting" camp?

I'm down for DMing this one, as it's connected to an expedition I already DMed.

Out of curiosity would I be required to bring a different character? I don't think the dwarf would hire on the same people who attacked him but maybe he's crazy or something? I don't mind bring a different toon I just want to be sure.

I think it would make the most sense to say that Nergal and his crew are unlikely to hire someone their guards saw running out after slaughtering their entire workforce. However, if you *really* want to bring Vistra, I'm willing to assume that he didn't contract directly with you and so doesn't know *you're* coming. However, I can't make any promises about what kind of reception you'd get when you arrive - you may want to have a story ready...

Basically, hey, it's a sandbox. If Vistra wants to sign up to guard the place she assaulted, I won't stop you - I'll just have the NPCs react accordingly.

I think that's perfectly reasonable. I guess I'll just have to break out my other Warden...

I will DM for as many or as few as LOVE GLORY. But I suggest 4 lovers of glory as a reasonable minimum.

Guys, we've currently got three scheduling threads open, and next week is fast approaching (especially for prep purposes). Any chance we can get 5 people to agree (including me and/or Angela, so we have a DM) on an *evening* for next week, and then we can take a vote on an expedition?

In particular, combining the two existing schedulers, it looks as if we have Xer0, Fuschia, me, Elvorix, and ZeroTheFool all available on 10/21. That's a quorum. Can we lock that date in and then take a vote on the expedition?

I'd favor, in order:

1. Killing menacing big folk, with Angela DMing
2. Re-assaulting the iron mine, with me DMing
3. Hunting the Gulgan spies, with me or Angela DMing
4. Defending the "hunting camp," with me DMing

My ranking:

1. Reassault the iron mine
2. Counter-terroristspy activity
3. Giant-slaying

Incidentally, if we're going to be doing a lot of these ranking polls, it might be best to set them up at a site like this that handles all of the rating and weighting calulations automatically at the end.

Chris, good point. This is a bit of a kluge, but since we had three expedition suggestions, none of which had quorum, I was trying to combine them so we could have a game. In the future, yeah, we can use your tool, or there's actually an integral poll function to the forum.

I favor either of the games were I can DM since I feel like Daniel hasn't had his fair share of play time since The Wastes started. I'm a little more interested in the big people quest but I won't be disappointed if everyone wants to do spies.

So, unless Xer0 really hates Big Problems, we're looking like we've got a clear front-runner (I know, I know, Borda counts violate independence of irrelevant alternatives). I'm going to take a step back at this moment. I'll abstain from voting, don't care what I play. As for the 21st, that's a maybe for me as we're scheduled to see the OB that day. Two factors - we have an appointment on the 19th and that may make the 21st unnecessary. Or we could still have the 21st and I would be late to the party, assuming that time allows. I will know for certain on the 19th and will let you all know then.

That *does* leave us with only 3 confirmed players, though. I'm happy to prep on contingency for if we get a 4th (Xer0 or otherwise) - I won't make Angela do that. All right, so what's the proposed party breakdown? I could see either my bard (leader) or warlock (striker) giant slaying here, and I'll just go with whichever we have most need of to keep our bases covered.

Well, I was planning on bringing Jarrol, who's an Ardent (leader), with a bit of a sideline in being a melee combatant (as he levels, he'll get better at being an off-striker). If you want to bring Olo, we can either revel in having two healers, or I can bring either Olufemi (who's a controller/striker) or Haagenti (who's pure striker). Much as I liked her in EE, I'm not quite feeling my Warlock right now.

Assuming Xer0 can make it, he's got a Defender, as does Elvorix. So we're probably good on that.

Well if Xer0 can't make it you guys will need a defender since in theory I'll be playing against you guys not with. Either that or as Daniel likes to say you can all LOVE GLORY without a defender.

Okay so I just wanted to get some things sorted so I can get my prep done.

I can certainly host. Or, if someone nearish would prefer, we can play there (my table remains somewhat under-sized - we just heard from the place that there's been a delay... of two months on the table we already waited six months for, so we'll be cancelling).

There was some chatter on FB about j-smuv coming, too, but he hasn't yet weighed in here.

What *I* need to know is... due to my awesome GMing prowess, Jarrol and his muscles are now Level 2. Do you guys want me to give him more vanilla healing, or do we have any superchargers in the party who would be excited about Psionic Charge or tacticians who would love me to bring some Bend Space action? (Or, since he's an Athasian Minstrel, I'm really tempted to take their utility that lets him hide his weapon... a maul).

Jarrol adds: "Bend Space is nice in combat, but you should see what I can do with it in... other situations."

I think I'm the only other Psionic character in the party, and PP aren't all that critical to me yet. Both Chris and I are casters, so you'll only be using Bend Space on Trabat. So maybe vanilla healing would be best. Though, I can see upsides and downsides to all the options.

I meant Dimension Swap, actually - Bend Space sucks (Jarrol is snickering now and I'm not sure why...). OK; I'll probably show up with something that hands out TPH or the ability to hide a maul in my jockstrap (OK, now he's *really* laughing).

I hear you need foolhardy adventure types. I will be a happy sacrifice.
